While I started this Substack back in May and I’ve since imported all my old posts from the OG Possible Worlds, I have really only taken off writing in the past month. So, what has that been like?
It’s been fun! I’ve had the summer to think, and writing kind of whatever comes across my interest has mostly been good. Slowing down is going to be good for the Fall, though, as teaching ramps back up. Here have been the posts you guys have been most interested in:
A look at a consent-based argument for anti-natalism (the view that we shouldn’t reproduce).
Many people feel as though they don’t really belong, especially in academia, and are just waiting to be exposed as frauds.
Many Christians not only refrain from thinking much about God, but also think such activities are a waste of time. Here’s why that isn’t true.
I’ll follow up more on this later, but Southern Baptists actually can accept the Nicene Creed as part of their confessional document and still remain a confessional people.
Here I discuss the growing block theory of time and I offer a new objection to it.
So what’s coming up next? A few things, in no particular order:
A. I am going to do the Possible Worlds podcast with probably one (maybe two) episode per month. I’ll likely kick it off in August by myself, but I hope to have guests on to speak about their work, whether already published or upcoming.
B. I’m going to continue publishing at least once a week, on Tuesdays. Expect to see a follow-up on the “What is Christian Philosophy?” series.
C. The inaugural Mind’s Workshop is coming out! In this paid feature, I offer glimpses into what I’m working on or thinking about. You can see it across the top menu of the main page.
D. Speaking of the menu on the main page, some may have noticed I placed a tab up a while back called Baptist Academia. I intend to explore Baptist life, academics, schools, news, and works. It’s a lot deeper than many take it for. This is a free feature that will likely come out once per month.
E. Our first-ever Q&A! A paid-only feature, this will be a Substack thread where people can send in questions and I will answer. These questions can be anything, and if you’re involved, you can ask as many in the month as you’d like. This will be set up beginning August 2 (the current plan).
There’s a lot in store for Possible Worlds and I’m glad you’re along!
